Sports Bash 2008 - October 18, 2008

The 3rd Annual Bash hosted by The Hays Area Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Hays Development Corporation and Eagle Communications lit up the Fox Pavilion on Saturday, October 18.

Two years ago, the hosting organizations celebrated the grand opening of the Fox Pavilion with ‘50s Bash and last year celebrated Halloween with Monster Bash. This year, the public was invited to attend Sports Bash. The community party had a number of fun elements for the complete sports enthusiast to the not-so-interested-in-sports individual. Many attendees donned their favorite team’s colors or some even supported a fictional team, like the Bad News Bears while others came in customary attire.

The party kicked off like any other sports event with the singing of the National Anthem. Attendees enjoyed game-day appetizers, wii sports games, a split-the-pot raffle, other raffle items, door prizes, the 7th inning stretch, a cash bar and live entertainment from local band Plan B. A live auction was also part of the evening's festivities and attendees had the opportunity to bid on wii systems, a high definition tv, KU basketball tickets, FHSU athletic tickets and more.

The Chamber and DHDC want to extend their sincerest appreciation to all the businesses and individuals who supported Sports Bash 2008 and made the event a success.
