Downtown Dollars Giveaway
Spend your dollars wisely this holiday season and shop local…and why shouldn’t you when you have the opportunity to win over $2,500 in “Downtown Dollars” and prizes from participating Chestnut Street District merchants….but wait, the total value of donated prizes and “Downtown Dollars” is now up to over $4,500.
In addition to having the opportunity to win one or more of several prizes donated by individual Chestnut Street District merchants (see complete list at the bottom of this article), and $1800 in “Downtown Dollars,” you now have the opportunity to win round-trip airfare tickets from Hays to Kansas City compliments of FlyHays!
Here’s how the program works: Do your Christmas shopping locally in downtown Hays at participating Chestnut Street District merchants now through December 7 during the 5th Annual Downtown Dollars Giveaway and enter to win! Simply patronize the participating businesses by either shopping or dining with them, receive tickets for qualified purchases, and you get a chance to win! * Tickets can only be awarded for in-house purchases. No purchase necessary to enter the drawing.
Winning tickets will be drawn on FrostFest Sunday, December 7, in front of the Fox Pavilion, 1202 Main, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Winning tickets must be present to win. If you cannot be present at the drawing on December 7, be sure to have a proxy who can present your ticket for you to claim your prize. Each of the 17 participating businesses will draw a winner from their individual store drawing. Only 5 tickets will be drawn from each individual business before moving on to the next business. If after five attempts a winner is not present, the prize will not be awarded. After all the individual business drawings have been completed, all tickets from all participating businesses (including the winning tickets from the first drawings) will be combined to draw for the two FlyHays tickets, a $1,126 value, and then draw for the Downtown Dollars as follows: 1st Drawing - $300, 2nd Drawing - $500, 3rd Drawing - $1,000. Tickets will be drawn for the Downtown Dollars until a winner is present. Winners must spend their winnings by December 31!

Simply donate canned or non-perishable food goods at participating businesses and those business owners will match the donated canned goods so we can double our contribution to the Community Assistance Center. Look for the decorated shopping carts downtown! Forgot to take your canned goods downtown? Don’t worry, you can drop them off at either Dillons locations. Just look for the display.
