Goodwin's New Item The Chestnut Street District’s Goodwin Sporting Goods has added a hot new item to their inventory. With the medical field in Ellis County growing, the business realized the need to make avaliable medical uniforms for these professionals. In January 2008, Goodwin’s began selling the health-related apparel line within their store. Brands of medical uniforms include Cherokee, HQ, Workwear, Tuniforms, as well as a fashion-oriented line. If the size or style is unavailable in the store, orders can be taken once a week with no shipping cost. Not only does the downtown business have a popular line of scrubs, the operation is expanding in the screen print area, as well. Shane Lynch, Production Manager and Graphic Designer, commented on the rapid growth their business is experiencing, due to the state of the art equipment that has just been purchased. He said, “Instead of producing 100 shirts per day, we can produce 1,000 shirts in a shorter amount of time.” The business has grown four times in the past three years with the screen print and embroidery market increasingly growing. “Our business began with a four-color manual machine. Now, we are utilizing an automated, high production system which enables us to do so much more,” said Lynch. “It is convenient and exciting to be able to purchase scrubs in the downtown area once again, instead of going out-of-town,” said Natalie Fisher, a Hays Medical Center employee. Whether you are searching for medical uniforms or looking for athletic apparel, stop by Goodwin Sporting Goods. Located at 109 West 11th Street, the store is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
