Youth Chess Lessons will be taught by Randy Brull in the Childrens Department on Wednesdays (June 17th-July 22rd) at 2 pm. Enrollment is limited so please call to enroll! The annual Summer Chess Tournament will be held on July 24th.

7:30 AM | 35th Annual Hays Merchants Golf Tournament
Join us at Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course on Saturday July 25th for a Continential Breakfast sponsored by Hays Chevrolet! Tee times will start at 7:30 am with you picking your time when you register. We will finish up the tournament on Sunday July 26th at the Smoky Hill Country Club Golf Course. $75 entry fee Registration deadline is June 22 2009. All participants must be 18 years or older and is open to both men and women with flights for men, women & senior divisions (55 years and older). All flights must have a minimum of 10 golfers. The number of golfers and Saturdays scores will determine the number of flights. 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Wedding Gown Exhibit: "Wartime Weddings"
Ellis County Historical Society presents a temporary wedding exhibit presenting the distinctive history and apparel of weddings during the 1940s. While weddings had become much more elaborate from those in the 1800s, war rationing called for innovative ways in which to create weddings and their fashions. Visitors will be able to view dresses, pictures, and other wedding related artifacts from Ellis County residents during World War II.

2009 FHSU Lady Tiger Basketball Team Camp
Join FHSU Head Womens Basketball Coach Tony Hobson for the 2009 camp that stresses teaching the fundamentals of basketball individual and team defense unselfish play and an atmosphere where learning is an enjoyable experience. Camp runs through July 22 2009 and is for girls grades 3rd through 12th grades.

The camp offers the experience of studying music with outstanding musicians from around the country for both band and string students.Students experience a week of stimulating and concentrated study in the art of music under the guidance of nationally recognized musicians teachers and conductors. Performances concerts and additional opportunities in recreation and camp social life make the week an experience worth repeating year after year.NEW THIS SUMMER!
